Hello there everyone,
I have recently noticed that in every set of famous DJs i hear, there is a use of a Echo Break effect in order to make a smooth transition between songs, some example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cB0zJGnvhj4 – at 20:00, 29:24
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hwL6TpJx2U – 18:47. 21:01
and it goes on and on and on…
I realized that this kind of echo break is done using a delay freeze of some sort, but my friend told me the just use a small reverb and a sample of this fading out sound!
Can someone please guide me about this kind of transition ? and how is it made?
much appreciated !The free Serato Expansion Pack “Wolf Pack” has a Break Echo that should do what this does.
Of course you could spice it even up by using a FadeEcho or Spiral Echo which are in payed expansion packs…Break echo is a very basic rough patch. The fade echo or spiral echo really makes the difference.

No, there isn't an echo-effect like on the most Pioneer DJM-mixers. What Traktor does have is a delay, which also works very nice.
